Will it work on a textured or rough shower floor?

It works best on clean, smooth surfaces — tile, acrylic, fibreglass and enamel. On rough or heavily textured floors the suction cups can't seal properly, so grip is weaker.
If your floor is textured, the mat may still hold once the floor is properly cleaned.

Isn't this just another suction cup mat?

It has suction cups — but not the way the ones that failed you did.

Most mats have about a dozen around the edge. Soap builds up under them; one lets go, then the next, and the mat starts to slide.

Ours uses Full-Surface Suction Grip: hundreds of cups across the entire underside. If one lets go, the rest still hold. There's no weak edge to find, because no edge is doing all the work.

What if it moves?

Nine times out of ten, it's the floor, and it's fixable.

Clean the shower floor properly first so there's no soap film. Lightly wet the suction cups. Then press the mat down from the middle outward to push the air out.
